Creamy Almond Milk Energy Smoothie

Beautiful blooms and an easy and quick smoothie to start the day!  I have been enjoying a lot of smoothies recently as they are perfect for the extremely hot weather that we have been having in Hong Kong.  That is up until today when my blender has totally given up on me!  Disaster!  This Almond Milk Energy Smoothie is my current favourite to have in the morning, it's filling enough to have for breakfast and the sweetness from the dates makes it feel much naughtier than it actually is.  For a mid afternoon pick-me-up I still love a Green Goddess Smoothie, you can find the recipe for that one here

RECIPE

Ingredients

Serves 2 

500ml Unsweetened almond milk

3 Medjool dates

1 Ripe banana

2 Tsp Vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

METHOD

  1. Put everything in a blender and blitz on high for 5 minutes until smooth.  Tip: if you don't have a high powered blender soak the dates in very hot water for 5 minutes to soften them before adding to your blender.  If your blender is high powered you shouldn't have to do this.
  2. Serve in a large glass with lots of ice.
